Vera Wang

Although Vera Wang was a US Figure Skating Champion, she didn’t try to skate her way to the top of the fashion industry. Instead, she worked for it. After graduating from the University of Paris, she worked as the senior fashion editor for Vogue magazine for sixteen years. In 1990, she opened her own salon in New York, which showcased her amazing bridal and special occasion gowns. Over the years, she designed gowns for celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Sharon Stone and Uma Thurman - just to name a few. However, what Vera Wang is probably best known for is designing some of the many beautiful bridal gowns that Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) wore in the Sex and the City movie.
